Vacation in Kansas
So we took the liberty to take a 1 week vacation at Ft. Riley in Kansas where we stayed at my sisters. It was amazing. I haven't seen my sister in 6 years because she constantly moves around due to the Military life. We had so much fun. As soon as we ( me, my husband and two youngest boys) drove into Kansas we felt already better. Kansas is so layed back, the scenery is very beautiful. We took the interstate and missed our exit thanks to that mulfunktioning GPS that call's himself my husband. So we drove past El Derado. Let me tell you, that Lake we've seen from the Highway was way too creepy for me. I don't know what the lake is called but it had dead trees standing in it. Can you say creepy? On our way home, we stopped in the town and it was much better. Very nice people there. Anyway so we get off the exit a town after El Derado and drive through the country. So so so beautiful. Everything is green, tended, smale creeks and ponds here and there, cows and horses. The air there not so bad like here in Oklahoma. In Oklahoma is it hard to breathe. It feels like you have to swim through soup, whenever you do something. I didn't have so many allergy problems there either and i didn't get bit up by those bloodsuckers. We drove through Council Grove and Herington. Cute little towns. We hope to move to Herington and build a new life there. All together we drove for 9 hours to get from OKC to Ft Riley, which should have taken us only 4 1/2 hours. And all that thanks to my husband lol. While we stayed at Ft Riley with my sister and her husband and kids, we BBQ'd alot, let the kids swim and had lots and lots fun. We had a lot to catch up on. I adore my little nephew who reminds me to much of my own boys. My niece is something too, way to curious for her age. We meat my sisters friends Deann and Andy who have 5 kids together (4 girls and 1 boy). I love those two and their babies. My sister Jackie, Deann and i went out to Manhatten, which is a City NE of Ft Riley and maybe 20 min drive to get there. We got soooo drunk, which i still don't know how that happened hehe. And yes we had a DD which was Andy. I felt bad for him picking up 3 drunk chicks who couldn't stop talking and laughing while he drove us home. Well it was more my sister and Deann then me, i'm more the silent type. The next morning i felt horrible. I haven't felt that way in nearly 10 years. My party days are over, i'm to old for that. Not to mention i felt kinda akward around so many young people. On our way home to Okc my husband got us lost again, this time getting out of Ft Riley and onto the Interstate. Don't ask me how he does it, but i learned i will invest into a GPS and hope it does better then him. We took the Country Roads back to Oklahoma and loved it. We didn't take this time so long to get home, so i guess we are learning. We hope we can visit them really soon again and hopefully move there. So that's it from my vacation. I hope you all had a great summer. I know i needed that to get out of here for awhile. Now it's time for me to get back to my old boring life. Here are some pix of us all at Ft Riley.
